Independent game developer and publisher Pawmingo Games has revealed Cat Sorter VR, an absurd game about rebuilding ‘defective’ cats. It will be playable at CatCon 2017 (naturally) in Pasadena, CA this weekend, and launches on Steam and Viveport on August 29th.

I would have gone for ‘Feline Rearrangement VR’ myself. But Cat Sorter VR it is. Cats combined with silliness is internet gold, and this winning formula is in full effect in Pawmingo Games’ debut virtual reality title.

The delightful—or perhaps mildly terrifying—gameplay footage from the teaser trailer shows the frantic sorting action, where the players are tasked with finding, fixing, and rebuilding cats. After all, you wouldn’t want a cat with an eye for a butt. Or perhaps you do, I don’t know. When you’re done fixing your felines, don’t forget to toss them into the sorting tubes for distribution.

According to the press release, Cat Sorter VR is built for room-scale VR, with a design that allows for ‘party gameplay’, where players can take turns to become the ‘ultimate cat sorter’.

Cat Sorter VR is unlike any cat game with simple pick-up-and-play control mechanics,” said Spencer Stuard, Pawmingo game designer. “We are delighted to give cat lovers attending CatCon the opportunity to be the very first to experience the fresh gameplay and light-hearted humor of Cat Sorter VR.”

So there you go, sort cats to your heart’s content. But make sure you check the hardware requirements on the game’s website, as they are surprisingly demanding.
